Charlene
became a member of Our Burd family, when she was just six
weeks old, a tiny little white fuffy puppy, you could hold
in one hand, her Mom and Dad, were boarder collies. their
owner was Mark Allen, Nephew and Cousin to Ellie and John.
Mark took Charlene's daddy where ever he went and they
were very close, he was an exceptionally smart dog, so when
Charlene's mommy was expecting her next littler, we decided
to take one of the little girl puppies. Charlene was born
November, 4th,1993.
Charlene's,
first night at her new home, John made a very comfortable
and cozzy bed for her, but Charlene had an idea of her
own, instead, she curled up in a little waste basket, and
looked up at John as if to say "this is where I want to
sleep" this was Charlene's personality, right from the
beginning, she knew what she wanted, and usually, got her
way. We named her Charlene, of course, if she had been a
boy, her name would have been Charley, as this was one of
our favorite and popular name in The Burd Family. When John
went to town, Charlene always went with him, she even went
to the hay fields with John and rode in the back seat of
the tractor, what fun they had together, all the
while, listening to The Burd Boys play and sing their Good
Ole Country Music Songs
Charlene's deserved the special honor of being:
"The
Mascot Of Hickory Grove Opry Farm"

 Charlene
grew up with the Country Music of The Burd Boys, she was
always with John when he was recording the Cd's of The Burd
Boys Country Music, She enjoyed being at the breakfast that
was made for us by ShotgunRed and Steve Hall, at our farm
house. At our Country Music Shows, John would bring her out
to meet with some of the great Country Music legends of
Nashville, TN.
Charlene
was always a healthy dog, she had a good appetite, and
enjoyed all kinds of Vegetables, and fruits, but she
especially loved having her coffee with us each morning.
Charlene passed away, March, 12th, 2008, she will always
be a very important part of our life.

She was a member of
our Family and she was considered: "Our Queen"
We loved her
and miss her, Charlene will be with us forever !
